PAMICCO Choir and Deputy Governor Hon. Christine Kilalo Bring Joy to Mvono Community Centre
The year ended on a high note for the Mvono Community Centre. On December 30th, the atmosphere was filled with harmony and hope as the PAMICCO Choir paid a special visit to our centre, courtesy of the Taita Taveta Deputy Governor, Hon. Christine Kilalo.
A Grand Procession of Support Led by their coordinator, Mwalimu Thomas Wesonga, the choir arrived with over 300 members representing various government entities. As part of their national tour, they chose Mvono as a key stop—a testament to the ongoing commitment of Hon. Christine Kilalo, who has remained a steadfast pillar of support for our community’s activities.
Melodies that Healed The air was thick with music as the choir performed powerful renditions of “Tushangilie Kenya Taifa Letu Tukufu” and the beloved Taita classic “Ilaghiro Jiboie.” The music did more than just entertain; it united the visitors, the 196 Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVCs), and the widows in attendance in a moment of pure celebration.
More Than Just a Visit The day was defined by “giving back.” The choir brought:
Assorted food items and essential supplies for the OVCs.
Words of encouragement and mentorship for the youth.
A shared meal and snacks that allowed for personal connection.
A Message of Hope Beyond the material gifts, the emotional impact was profound. The 196 OVCs were encouraged to stay resilient and were given the assurance of a brighter future. Seeing leaders and public servants take the time to sit, talk, and eat with them left a lasting impression of belonging and love.
We extend our deepest gratitude to Hon. Christine Kilalo for facilitating this visit and to Mwalimu Thomas Wesonga and the entire PAMICCO Choir for choosing to share their voices and their hearts with Mvono.
